Pat.........

The switch makes and breaks the BLACK wire........

Take either of the black wires from the dimmer and attach to the pair of black wires already connected.........

Connect the other black wire from the dimmer and attach to the red wire ...........

attach the green ground wire to the other ground wire in the back of the box.........
