How many tons of dirt in 400 SQ ft. x 8 inches

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how many tons of dirt would be extracted from a the below hole.

size = 400 square. feet
depth of hole = 8 inches

I've read that one ton = 2000 pounds = 907 kg = .907 metric tons.

I just need to know the total # of tons of dirt that was removed. Thanks, Wally
