my brother-in-law is converting my garage into a painting studio. He has run a large center beam the lenth of the garage and intends to run 2x4s from the top of the walls up to the center beam and then pack the vacant space between the roof and the new "roof" with insulation. There will be no other cross beams from wall to wall. Is this going to be adequate to hold the building?
