Hi, again, Andrew. This certainly is something that you can ask the contractor. Even if it is legal (and I don't think that it is), I think that you would have a very hard time just trying to snake the wire. Since the labor--yours or theirs--will be the same for pulling wire, I really do not think that there would be any advantage. The wire is not the expensive part of the process, the time and the other new equipment will be. I think that it is a little like with computer equipment. You can put an 8 gig hard drive and a 24x CD-ROM in a 486 and it is still a 486. You are better off to spend a little more money and upgrade the whole system.
