We recently purchased a fixer up house( unfortunately we have to stay in the house while we fix it up ) and after we entered it for the first time to see what damage the previous tentant left ...well,let's just say we have our hands full.
we had to shingle the roof...(done)
the previous tentant had written profanities on the bedroom , livingroom and dining room walls with a paint stick you use to mark cattle for sorting..( which is near impossible to remove or cover )he even wrote stuff in the closets.
This paint does not dry and it smears all over everything when it is touched.
we have painted the rooms just to make it a little more liveable but it all will be re-done again soon....the marker came through the paint loud and clear...I am going to try to cover it with a sealant and then try to paint it again.
The floors were covered with a filthy gray carpet so we tore them out and revealed a nice hardwood floor which we are going to try to restore.
The basement is a totally different story.....
ISH !!!! ...how can people live this way?
I scooped approximately 25 shovelfuls of dog feces
from a room in the basement and that isn't counting the feces in the other 2 basement rooms which were submerced in 2 inches of water for god only knows how long.we purchased a sump pump and got that all out.
I scoured the whole basement with Bleach to the point of making myself sick.
I can't get rid of the sewer smell and i am afraid that my children will get sick ..I know we have to put in a new sewer system but finances are really tight right now and i need quick-fix remedies at the present time.
PLEASE HELP !
