Chris is right. you need to find out where they are getting in and close it off. the droppings will dry and should be easier to handle then. put the droppings in a flower bed or compost pile. it makes excellent fertilizer.
i would also try to encourage the bats to stay in the area by putting up bat houses. they keep mosquitoes and other insects in check.
