I have a recently purchased house with a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that doesn't work with the remote, and even the chain pull does not turn it on. The lights work on it, although there is a slight delay after turning on the wall switch. Can the remote part be bypassed, and how is the unit attached to the ceiling, i.e., best procedure for removal?
