Hot water baseboard heating system

Posted by Len Tatore on August 5th, 2003 06:51 AM

I am having installed a gas hot water baseboard heating system in my home. The heating contractor told me he is going to install an antifreeze type solution in the system to prevent freeze-ups should the power ever go out. Can anyone tell me about this solution? Is it harmful to the components? How often does it have to changed? Any other info is appreciated. Thank you.
