Interior Brick Wall

We are remodeling a house and in the master bedroom there is one of those faux brick walls. It is not a sheet of plastic made to look like bricks, it is actually thin brick pavers mortered to the wall. Thank goodness it is only on one wall. It is also under the kitchen cupboards and a small corner in the living room where there used to be a fireplace, that the previous tenant decided to take with him. The brick in the bedroom is painted a dark smoke gray color, I have put a primer over it and would like to paint it but I am wondering what would happen if when I put a top coat on the two other walls that have new windows, could I put it on the brick wall in the bedroom that has primer on it?
