Hurd windows with broken seals

In reply to Hurd installation by Ann O'Malley on November 28th, 2002 09:12 AM [Go to top of thread]

We too had had our home for only6 1/2 years when Hurricane Fran came through. Shortly afterward we had several of our E-gas windows fog up. Since the warranty was only 7 years we let them
know right away and they sent us 3 or 4 replacement windows that we still have stored in our garage because by the time we received them we had others doing the same fogging. Now virtually every window in our house needs replacing. Could this have been a bad batch? or could this possibly have anything to do with the installation? Our builder tells us no, but I certainly do not want to put in new sashes if they are going to do this again in 7 years.Help, I can't even see out of my windows now. And is the guarantee on the new windows any longer than 7 years. It should be if they're supposed to be so good and they cost so much.If there is anyone out there in the Raleigh,NC area that can help me, please let me know. Thanks. mfjbrown@bellsouth.net
