Greetings William,

Depending on how bad the hole is and where it is located, would depend on how you fix it.

If it is not that large, you could fix it with a small piece of cardboard with a nail pushed through it.

Cut out a piece of cardboard just a bit bigger than the hole and stick a nail with a small head through the center of it.

Holding on to the nail, push it through the hole and then pull it back tword you. Use a filler that matches the color of the siding and bonds to vinyl and apply it to the cardboard and make sure you get around the edges. hold it so it sits tight against the siding.

After it sets up, pull the nail through the siding and fill the hole with the filler and smooth it out.

I you decide to change the panel, you need to make sure you remove a piece from another part of the house so it will faded the same amount to blend in.
