Wallpaper Removal Posted by Cheryl on October 18th, 1999 08:41 AM
I just moved into a rented condo. The wallpaper in the bathroom is hideous! The realtor told me that I could change it, at my own cost. I decided to strip the old wallpaper, and paint the walls, until I could afford the wallpaper that I wanted and the cost to have it installed by a professional. I just spent the weekend stripping the entire bathroom. Problem is, it seems to have left the backing & adhesive still on the wall! I bought a liquid stripper, that you apply & leave on for 15 mins before removing. It took me 2 hrs just to get about 4 sq feet of what was left off the wall! My question is, Can I just leave this backing & adhesive from the old wallpaper on the wall & wallpaper over it, and just forget about the painting? Or does the old backing & adhesive need to be removed anyways? Boy has this turned into the project from hell! I need all the help I can get!! Thanks!
