Ventilation question in attic

we have an eight-year old two story colonial house. We are concerned about whether our attic is properly ventilated. There is "black mold" on the sheathing in the attic on the underside of the roof. Is this dangerous? I keep questioning the air flow but we have had our attic checked by our contractor and he confirms that everything is fine. We have a roof vent as well as soffit venting. We had a problem when we had the central air conditioning installed in that when we built the house, we had the duct work "roughed in" and then when we installed the actual air conditioning unit, the contractor had to remove the insulated round duct work because it had water in them. First indication something was probably wrong. We do have oil hot water heat which I know add moisture to the air. Also have condensation around the windows in the wintertime. I am told our house is too "energy tight." Great observation, but how do you fix it? All fans in bathrooms are properly ventilated to the outside. Seems like everything is tight but it concerns me for health reasons and also that it could be causing damage to areas we do not see.

I'd love to ease my mind. Just tell me what can be done, if anything. Thanks!
