Our biggest problem was that they did not put enough caulking and when the logs dried out and shrunk it left spaces where the wind came in. It also rained in and stained the walls. The cracks are small but we had to compleatly re-caulk the outside. The bulider took most of the caulk back and said they had used plenty. We should have known this was not the case. Our logs are made of spruce and we had it built by a company from North Texas. So far we have not have further problems and it was built 5 years ago. We are finishing the inside ourselves with Aspen- if you know anything about this wood please E-mail us. We are in the process of putting it on the inside walls and ceilings now and need tips on how to install and staining and sealing. One room is 2 story and staining and sealing might be a real job
