Bumps in hardwood floors

Posted by cc on August 8th, 2003 06:02 PM

We had our hardwood floors refinished a few months back. I didn't notice before, but now whenever I walk over the floors I feel all these hard little bumps. It looks like hardened maple syrup in between the wood boards. Is this from the contractor putting an excess of lacquer on the floor? If so, is there an easy way of getting rid of them? They "crack" off when I chisel them with my fingernail so it's not too hard to break off, but there's a lot of it and I don't want to damage the floors either.
