How you go about accessing internal components of your washer will depend on the exact model number of it from the model and serial number tag and how the washer was designed.
You can find tips for locating the model number on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my site linked below. "Kenmore 90" in not the model number.
If it is a newer 'direct drive' model, the whole cabinet usually needs to be removed to access internal components. The washer's 'top' in not usually removable.
