Stanley/Whistler ST605 Opener

I have problems with my Whistler opener too! The pushbutton works fine and the opener runs OK, the only problem is the remote control - it doesn't work anymore. I have the manual and did the procedure to reprogram it to no avail. The so-called "universal" remote available at Lowes isn't so universal after all and won't work with this Whistler model. I hate to chuck the thing in the trash but I think I'm going to get a Genie, maybe then I can get some support.
