Many dishwashers are designed to drain after the last rinse cycle and then refill a small amount of water. This is to maintain the seals in the diswasher. You can often hear this happen if you pay attention to the end cycle. The washer will drain, then briefly refill. It would be very unlikely that calcium could build up on pump parts or drain lines to an extent capable of interfering with drainage. Consult your owners manual or the manufacturer to see if this condiiton is normal operation before concluding that it is a malfunction.
