i found a simple way to remove the black padding and glue off of my hardwood floor. i bought a orbital sander from menards for $25 and 3 packages of orbital sand paper about $3 a package it takes it right off quite easily i was amazed how easy it was coming off after some of my other attempts using other methods proved useless. i know you can you at least 80 grit sand paper could find anything heavier than that hope that helps someone out
