My husband spilled a bunch of cucumber melon candle wax on our white/tan long shag carpet. I used the iron and paper towel trick, and it came out perfect. You can't tell at all where is was spilled, the paper towel soaked it right up. I had my iron set to medium heat. Thanks a bunch to the person who recommended this idea.
