I have a similar problem around my windows. They are normally white but get black with fly specks in the summer on our farm! I have tried just about everything. L.O.C. Plus glass cleaner (available at Quixtar.com) will at least turn the specks to gray. I'm not sure about other glass cleaners. I sprayed it on and scrubbed the area with a stiff brush.
