Just had a fitting burst on my hot water heater. Plumber tells me I should have my entire house re-piped for $5400! He says he can patch the pipe; but that it will only be a band-aid. I just bought the house 6 months ago. Do I have any recourse from the seller? Any thoughts on the re-piping issue?

Thanks,
