Kenmore 90 series lid switch replacement

I am having the same problem fixing my lid switch. I have a Kenmore 90 series model number 22902100. I can see the connection by looking underneath (from the top not from the far bottom) where the tub is, but I can't disconnect it. Do I need to take the whole casing off? if so, can you please tell me how to go about doing it?
