My father told me that oil of clove will remove odors from wood furniture (I have 2 antique dressers with the mothball smell). I haven't tried this yet, because I don't know how to use the oil. I'm thinking maybe I'll put a few drops on a cotton ball and put the cotton ball in a ceramic dish, and put the dish in a drawer. At least I'll see if that will do anything until I find out more details.
An antiques dealer told me that she uses Pledge orange oil spray polish on all her antique wood furniture. She recommended that to me, and then she said to put vinegar and some cloves into a bowl, and put the bowl in the drawer. I'm going to do more research before I do this one.
There are so many people with this problem, but no solution!!! There has to be something!!! Otherwise, nobody would want this furniture. Why don't they ever talk about this on the Antiques Roadshow??? Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
