Palm roots are each small diameter and numerous.....and can extend a long way from a large plant........"out-of-control"? They're looking for water.........
The roots are able to be cut a short distance from the palm allowing a reasonable sized root ball.....
After moving the large trees are staked and watered/feed until the root structure returns...........
