I want to raise the roof (make higher interior ceilings) on a 1973 rambler with a walkout basement. The house footprint is approximately 65'W x26'D and has a simple pitched, shake roof. I know this is a major task but the house is on a spectacular, hard to find half-acre riverfront lot. The house is in excellent condition so it is impractical to raze it and start over. Would really appreciate comments, suggestions...!
