I have the basic idea of how to build one... a rectangular deck with a roof... the roof attached with 4x4 posts up from the ground with top-plates... I am having problems designing a roof system, I know to use prebuilt trusses, but can't figure how to do the overhang, or whether to do soffet and facia and how to do those. Any ideas? Books at places like Lowes are far too complicated.
