in texas we never turn our fans off. i have never heard that continuously running the fans was a problem. is the hot motor issue only pertaining to hampton bay cheapies, or all fans?
about the remote issues, i bought a remote fan about a year ago and you have to stand on one leg, hold your right arm up, and say a few four letter words, but it works.
