Burnt wood.

Well, one problem with burned wood is it is just that burned wood and you can't lighten it up. If the burns are in a part of the door that is recessed, find a cabinet maker with an open throat timesaver sander and have the doors sanded by a machine. If the doors are recessed and the burns are in the recesses, a tougher deal.. I'd probably purchase a rotary sander and use 180 paper. After the rotary sander, you'll have to handsand with the grains to cut the rotary sanding marks, but your going to have to get more aggressive with the burns, they will eventually be gone and you'll be glad.

Use 3M paint remover paper (150 grit) for the first passes by hand with a block, its mean paper, but cuts great.

If the burns are really deep, a cabinet maker might have another option for you. I wouldn't recommend you try it though, so I won't suggest it here.
