The layout.
As far as the corner sink, it would be easier for you to lay them straight and cut around the sink.
Or you can go off of the lines of your sink and the tile would be angled throughout. Its really up to you .
The wood edgeing.
It should be installed before the grout and after the tile, however the wood should already be stained and sealed. (that eay if you get grout on it, it will just wipe off easily. If you install the moulding after the grout, chances are the grout will no be flush to the wood, and you will have gaps, i.e. places for food to hide.
as far as the actual layout, I personally like cut sides on both the wall and the edge of the counter (with a full peice in the middle) But that is up to you, if you go with just on side cut, put it against the wall.
