strong rainstorms have been penetrating my chimneyand draining down to wet the carpet around the fireplace. Other than professional tuckpointing, is there a very good, reliable waterprofing sealant that a layman can put on to eliminate the problem? What is the approximate charge for a chimney professional to tuckpoint an average 20 ft. chimey?
