Ceiling Fan rewiring

Posted by Dan Miller on September 7th, 2003 06:28 PM

I had an old Hampton Bay ceiling fan with a light kit...replaced it with a newer better looking model...that all went well BUT when the old fan was down, awaiting my installation of it into a different room one of the wires "came loose"...of course no one knows how or why it happened, the household members have clammed up completely.
Anyway I have the white and black wires still attached but the black and white one is completey disconnected...of course when I reinstalled it the Light works perfectly but the fan won't turn on at all...where do I reconnect the black and white ON THE FAN itself?
Any ideas? If so I can save myself about $150 dollars...Thanks - Dan
