I think I may be in over my head. I just purchased a raftsman 12" Metal Turning Lathe 101.28990 at an estate sale. I was thinking that I would be able to use it to learn basic lathe techniques. The problem is, it has loads of features including automatic settings for threading rod etc. and I fear it is too much for me.
I have begun looking for the manual on-line but noone seems to have this model in pdf for less than a mint. Does anyone know where I can get one on the cheap. Alternatively, does anyone know what it is worth and what would be the best way to sell it (so I can buy a more basic unit)?
