Bruce -- I'm going to do the enameling this weekend and will post follow-up. I did find out the hard way that I did not adequately plug the gap around the drain after the flange came out and some rinse water made its way to the ceiling below. FOrtunatley there was an outlet for the water around a vent fan inthe bathroom below, so hopefully no major damage!!! ANd fortunately I found this out before I did the acid etch and major rinse job. THis is the other thing I have found about home improvement projects -- they breed others (multiplicity) -- but most of the time not b/c of damage cause by the first home improvement !
