leaking facuets, moaning sound from pipes, then sparks frm washing machine Posted by laceed on November 7th, 1999 02:55 AM
I hired a Handy Man to fix some leaking faucets in my home. He replaced two of them, one in the Kitchen and one in a bathroom. They seem fine, but now there is a loud growl coming from under the sink, and the shower is leaking terribly, which was not leaking before. I don't know if this has anything to do with the other, but last night while doing laundry, (washing and drying), the circuit breaker went off at the same time, I tripped the breaker and pressed the re-set buttin on the plug and the washing machine POPPED and sparks came shooting out and smoke too. It kept POPPING and sparking for awhile. I turned the circuit breaker off to that room and have not touched it since. I am scared. Are these things related? Should I call a different Handy Man? Is this a set-up for more work? Should I just buy a new washing machine and start over? How do I stop the leaking in the shower? Thank You for any advice. Lacey
