same problem - tar on driveway

a family member mistakingly used karnak roofing ashfault on his driveway instead of sealant. the dumont site seems to be for paint removal..
is there a recommended type of company (roofing maybe?) to remove this?

ive tried torching it and scraping it, which is a VERY messy and long job. for the time being, ive sanded it to absorb some moisture..

any help or references would be appreciated!
