This is an interesting question and there may be a partial answer. The companies that pressure treat wood were forced to change the material that they use for the treatment. In my view, this was because a few people were a lot too zealous about getting rid of the product that had been used for many years. Other chemicals were available for this application, including some that had been used in Europe for a few years. It was not a major undertaking for the treaters to change their tanks, but with anything like this, there are always some surprises. It will be interesting to see if drawing fruit flys is one of the surprises. I don't think that there is enough of a "track record" yet to definately say that the phenomena exists here.
