I am constructing a 10x12 shed without plans. I plan on roof pitch of 6/12. I have been utterly confused by the formulas for calculating the length of roof rafters presented in the "do-it yourself" books. Does anyone have a simple method for calculating the length of standard roof rafters? Thank you.
