I was piping up a machine which requires water.
The water comes from a header tank. The tank header is around 6 feet above my machine and about 40 feet pipe distance.
I turned off the water and conected the machine to the water system. The water supply also serves another purpose in the same room as I was working in. When I turned the water on there was only a trickle coming out.I checked other sinks and baths on the circuit they all worked well. But I had no pressure in the room where I was working.
Why do air locks occour and how do you get rid of them.A friend says he puts a hose on a tap and forces water back up the pipe he says this works. Unfortunately I am now back in the office some 250 miles away.
Would it have been better to plumb into the mains supply because of the small header height or is there a way to clear the air lock.
