1- You must provide a transfer switch to ensure that you won't energize the power lines coming into your house, possibly endangering power company employees.
2- Male-male plug is against code, and very dangerous. A live exposed male plug is very dangerous.
Check some of the generator manufacturer websites for info on interconnecting your generator to your house safely and efficiently .
