VCR channel settings

My VCR only recognizes a few of the cable channels, and I do not see a button to "relearn channels" (it's kind of old, and I do not have a manual... it's a MITSUBISHI HS-328UR).
There is a set of controls on the front labeled "channel preset procedure" (labeled 1: set "tuning SW", 2: select channel, 3: set "Band selector", 4: set "tuning/fine", 5: set "channel set", 6: set "memory", 7: turn off "tuning SW").
These look like the right controls, but I can't make them work. Anybody know the procedure or have a manual for this VCR? (or any VCR with similar controls?)
