Arthur Godfrey was a natural style singer. I like all of his novelty recordings. The arrangements were tight, and the musicianship was first class. The TOO FAT POLKA has to be the best of the bunch, but SLAP HER DOWN AGAIN, PA and ALL RIGHT LOUIE, DROP THE GUN are also well done. Godfrey's layed-back singing style sounds believeable, although he was no doubt a controling tyrant in real life.
As a child of the 50's, I grew up listening to these records, and watching him on TV. He seemed to be on all the time.
