These guys were better than average at playing the game. They did not acknowledge receipt of letters voiding the contract and the result is still that the houses are tied up in court for years.
An even nastier deal is that they told one lady that they were moving their office and would let her know where to send the payments. They never let her know the new address and therefore she became in default after 60 days and they took her house.
These guys were pros but pros at scamming rather than building. They bought a well known and accepted construction company so that a call to the BBB would have gotten a good report. When they have enough money, they will probably move to another state and pull the same thing again. And, regrettably, it is probably not the people who would try to "do their homework" on this board that will most likely be bitten the next time.
