Moisture diffuses through the dry/molding into the dry air in the room. The molding must be wood or a material that moisture moves through. Plastic, rubber or other non-premuable material traps the moisture and grows mold. Generally <50% RH is suggested, 55%RH may be ok if the cavity dries. To test, insert a %RH meter into the cavity, close and read the meter after a couple days. The %RH should be less than 65% to prevent mold growth. If its higher reduce the space %RH. Make sure you have an accurate %RH meter.
