Adding load to truss joists

Bill and Bonnie, you have 2x4 trusses and are proposing to install plywood to add storage for lightweight stuff above the garage. The bottom chord on a truss is not a joist. These are not intended for loads in addition to those imposed by the ceiling and insulating materials. If you propose to use the space for storage, you need to have a professional assess the load bearing capability.

I'm sure its safe to walk on these trusses, and intuitively it may seem safe to store lightweight stuff. But the trusses were probably not intended to bear additional dead load (plywood flooring) and live loads (storage) in addition to the roof. Perhaps there are other opinions.
