Regarding my G26 Lennox ignition trouble, I never did purchase a new control box (Flame Sensor Controller), since first having trouble October of 2002.
I have had mixed results repairing the original one (circuit board cold solder joints.
I did clean off all the varnish from the board so that I could re-solder the connections. It worked well for a couple months after doing so, but continues to give occasional trouble (won't keep the burners on long enough or faults out and won't initially ignite). Working 90% of the time.
What I did was to remove the circuit board and run the furnace with it exposed so that I could prick the board with a toothpick (or something that wouldn't conduct electricity) to try to isolate the intermittent capacitor or cold solder joint.
I don't recommend this, unless you are familiar with electrical troubleshooting, as there are high voltages present here. I have worked as an Electronic Technician for 15 years.
You might be able to get a new Controller from a Lennox dealer/service shop - but they are usually reluctant to sell such parts directly to customers due to fear of lawsuits should something go wrong.
Furnace repair can be dangerous, always keep that in mind.
