I recently ripped the carpet off my stairs, which revealed unfinshed pine. I removed ALL staples and filled holes with a neutral color wood patch. I then sanded down. However, when i apply the stain, it does not cover the wood patch (it shows, you see the areas were the wood patch was applied).
Am I missing something or what do you recommmend?
