Carrier Weathermaker SX problems: Ideas??

I have a Carrier Weathermaker SX model 58SX080 the pilot will ignite but the igniter keeps sparking like it does not know that the pilot is lit. The burners never light but again I think it is because the system does not think the pilot is lit. Could it be the pilot saftey switch?? Any help is appreciated.
