furnace blower

I would have a qualified Furnace Technician come in and diagnose the problem.

Sounds like there was an unusual gas build up the last time the furnace was turned. When the excess gas ignited, it caused the small explosion.

Now I believe that a sensor or two in your furnace have been tripped or damaged. The blower coming on first is usually a sign of abnormal shut down or other problem.
