My house has been wired before (50 years old). All up to date box etc. Here's what I want I want to do. hook up bedroom 2 and 3 to the same breaker. Ok, I know I can piggy back the wires from plug to plug. But how do I hook up the fans to run as well? It's set up with a power wire to a netural wire (i was told it was the old fashion way). But I want to do it right. I'm using a 20 amp breaker. I was told to do this. Take the fans down,(using pull cord for on and off), hook up a "homerun" wire(?)then run a wire from fan to switch, take the netural wire and tire off together, take the black wires make a pigtail and screw into the switch, one wire that's all! then starting from the "homerun" wire, start the piggy back run from plug to plug. Does this sound right? doesn't the netural have to be screwed onto the switch. thanks for helping and your advice.
